Of the "pale blue dot," astronomer Carl Sagan said, "That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every 'superstar,' every 'supreme leader,' every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there — on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam."

Uh, oh. My wife has conspired with her parents to set me up with a LEGO train set. (The engineer, she confessed, looked awfully familiar. She couldn't help herself!) And now my long-suppressed love of the little plastic bricks has been fully revived. I've dug up the old instruction manuals on Castle sets from the early '80s, taken the handful of Star Wars sets down off the shelf from a few years back, and started dreaming of new creations.
This is a test... ahoy, ahoy... a test.
Thank you.
The work has been crushing lately just too many demands on my time to clear enough space in my head to slow down and write for myself. There is lots of good stuff happening even in the midst of all of this work in progress. I am very much enjoying my weekly podcast with the affiliate marketing gurus Weekly Insight. They are some of the smartest and funny guys to riff with on business topics once a week. It is really great fun.
A guided tour of our summer vacation in Finland is at Flickr, with bonus pictures for friends and family. (Let me know if I've forgotten to send you an invitation to the non-public photos.)
This is the first post of this new blog. This blog is going to cover all of the topics that are "off topic" for my other two public blogs, both of which are sorely neglected. I need to make the time to blog more often. Writing has been taking so much of my time -- all directed toward growing my business -- that I have been unable to clear the head space to blog. Perhaps, I'm just too careful to make sure that the topic is well thought out and clear. I won't be here. The color picture should be a clue. I don't use color on my other blogs. They are all rather grey and formal. here is the unvarnished brightly colored me.
